How Does Chiropractic Work?

Adjustments

After a thorough discussion of any issues you may be seeking care for, we will conduct an examination to determine any areas that need attention. From that, we will develop a plan to get you headed in the right direction. The most common approaches that we use are chiropractic adjustments which aim to restore better movement to spinal joints and exercise to help improve your strength, mobility and posture. We use a range of techniques matched to your needs.

IS CHIROPRACTIC SAFE?

In the words of the New Zealand Government’s Inquiry, chiropractic care is “remarkably safe.”1 Chiropractic has an excellent safety record. It is the result of a conservative approach to health that avoids invasive procedures or addictive drugs.

Like most forms of healthcare though it may cause adverse reactions in some people.

TYPES OF CARE

RELIEF CARE

After your First Visit we will typically focus on eliminating or reducing the majority of your discomfort and stabilise your initial complaint and health concerns.

Visits are frequent and regular, normally two to three times a week.

RESTORATION

From this point our objective is to then correct any underlying spinal problems, as well as strengthen the muscles, improve spinal function and promote healing of tissues.

Visits are less frequent, normally once a week or once a fortnight.

PROACTIVE WELLNESS CARE

At Vitality Chiropractic we appreciate that everyone has individual health goals. Some people seek adjustments only when they are in pain while others more frequently choose proactive care for themselves and their families.

Maintaining a properly functioning spine and nervous system may catch small problems before they become serious and allow you to be your best. People commonly choose to come in monthly, fortnightly or weekly, we’ll help you ascertain what works best for your lifestyle.
